Selected, Gerrit Rietveld Academie Awards Show 2017

In collaboration with Looiersgracht 60, the Gerrit Rietveld Academie presents SELECTED: an exhibition of work by graduating students who have been carefully chosen for the annual ‘GRA Awards’ by an independent jury.

Every year the Rietveld Academie organises the GRA awards to celebrate the work of exceptional students who have produced thoughtful, challenging and stimulating work. Participating graduates work in the fields of design, fine arts, graphic design, fashion and new media. SELECTED is realised in order to support and encourage students in further developing their independent art practice.

Creating opportunities for young artists and recent graduates to exhibit their work is one of Looiersgracht 60’s core concerns. Presenting the GRA Awards together with the Rietveld Academie speaks to both organisations’ shared commitment to promoting young talent that redefines and transgresses boundaries. Coming together for the second time this year at Looiersgracht 60, the exhibition features the culminating work of 10 students:

Ben Zegers (Dean of Bachelor Education Gerrit Rietveld Academie) will give a speech.
