Selected, Gerrit Rietveld Academie Awards Show 2018

Looiersgracht 60 is happy to welcome back the Gerrit Rietveld Academie’s SELECTED. Every year, SELECTED presents the work of eleven outstanding graduates who have been nominated for GRA awards. Exceptional theses and works from the autonomous and applied arts are selected by an independent jury of industry professionals. This year’s winning students were chosen by Margriet Schavemaker (head collections and research Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam), Ad de Jong (visual artist), Rieke Vos (curator at NDSM-werf), Joost Grootens (graphic designer with a background in architecture), Sacha Bronwasser (art historian & art critic) and Kaweh Modiri (visual artist, filmmaker & writer). The jury were especially impressed by students whose work displayed a clear, coherent and thoughtful approach.

This is the third time that the Gerrit Rietveld Academie and Looiersgracht 60 collaborate to realise SELECTED – a testament to both organisations’ ongoing commitment to promoting young talent that redefines and transgresses boundaries. From 8-16 September 2018, SELECTED presents the work of the following graduates:
