Strangely Familiar
25 October – 23 December 2026

Looiersgracht 60 is pleased to present Temporary Bookshop XXII alongside Strangely Familiar, a major solo exhibition by Aldo Bakker. Initiated and conceptualised by Looiersgracht 60, the Temporary Bookshop accompanies selected exhibitions and events as a literary backdrop for those wishing to engage more deeply with the ideas and references surrounding the work.

For this edition, the bookshop brings together a selection of titles that resonate with Bakker’s longstanding inquiry into form, sculpture and the experience of objects in space. Moving between sculpture theory, architecture, spatial perception, literature and contemplative thought, the selection reflects on how form is encountered and understood, and on the ways material and spatial experience can resist immediate definition. Together, these publications offer a broader context for the questions of autonomy, ambiguity, attention and perception that run throughout Strangely Familiar.
