The Warp and Weft of History: Public Programme I

In conjunction with Kristina Benjocki’s solo-exhibition ‘The Warp and Weft of History’, Looiersgracht 60 will host a guided tour and subsequent discussion between Rachael Rakes, Stijn Verhoeff and Kristina Benjocki. Rachael Rakes is a curator, writer and educator with a focus on collaborative, research and time-based media. Rakes’ own research and curatorial directive is grounded in political communication, re-mapping, the non-territorial and abstracted aesthetics.
Rakes will introduce the exhibition and the works on view, and contributing her unique perspective and expertise on Benjocki’s research and practice. Following the tour through the exhibition, there will be a discussion between Rakes, Verhoeff and Benjocki surrounding their collaboration and exploration of narrative and the role of the archival in their latest film, ‘While the Pile of Rubble Grows Towards the Sky’.
