From Seeing to Acting - The Smell of the North Sea
Radical Reversibility
1 October 2021

From Seeing to Acting, is the second group exhibition organized in collaboration with Radical Reversibility, a Dutch art and research collective that investigates the connection between image and perception. From Seeing to Acting proposes a paradigm shift in the ways we perceive and process visual information. The installations, videos, photographs, and sculptures on display engage our moving bodies, challenge our points of view, and encourage us to see beyond the surface of objects.

In conjunction with the show olfactory artist Frank Bloem (NL) and Harpo ‘t Hart (NL),artist and co-founder of The Embassy of the North Sea, will talk about their work. Bloem will discuss the artistic process and development of his perfume Zeelucht – Wandeling aan de Noordzee (Sea Breeze – A Stroll Along the North Sea), which is featured in the exhibition, From Seeing to Acting, and was commissioned by The Embassy of the North Sea. ‘t Hart will present On Representation and Polyphony of the North Sea and discuss the vision and artistic projects initiated by The Embassy of the North Sea.

The artist talk and Q&A will begin at 17:00 on Friday, October 1. Attendance is free of charge, however, seating is limited. Please reserve a place by emailing us at info@looiersgracht60.org. Please note that according to Dutch governmental COVID regulation we will need to check proof of vaccination or a negative test result from 'Testen voor Toegang' upon entering our public programming events. We thank you for your understanding.
