Looiersgracht 60 is proud to announce the third edition of Printing Plant on 20-22 November 2020, during Amsterdam Art weekend. Printing Plant is an in-depth three-day art book fair for like-minded, independent publishers and curious viewers. With a diverse range of (inter)national publishers, Printing Plant, the only art book fair in Amsterdam, presents an exceptional selection of artist editions, catalogues, books, monographs, periodicals and zines that are generally unavailable in bookshops.

One of Printing Plant’s concerns is to constitute a community around publishing as an artistic practice and explore art’s capacity to redefine the means of presentation and distribution. Looiersgracht 60’s unique exhibition space still bears visible traces of its past as a cardboard and paper factory that also printed pamphlets, posters, limited-editions and cards for artists and museums. It is therefore an ideal place to present an art book fair and pay homage to the important legacy of the medium in Amsterdam.

We look back fondly on the second edition of Printing Plant 2019, which hosted over 80 publishers from 20 different countries who were on show to an astounding number of visitors, both local and from afar. The weekend entailed a carefully curated public programme that included special collaborations with independent publishers and art academies, as well as thought-provoking talks and workshops.
